GROUP EXERCISE – Presenting Your Portfolio

PART 1 – 20 mins
Each student presents their exhibition portfolio to the class

PART 2 - 10 mins Blog
Each student post feedback on all other students in your blog

(Minimum of 50 words blogging on each student)

After we soughed out the invitations we then presented to the class our 2D and 3D Designs so far.

We then had to post feedback on all other students in our blog with a minimum of 50 words.
I presented my ideas to the class and concluded that I am doing the chandelier for my 3D design. I am running a little behind because I have been away for two weeks and have been on standby. So my idea is to get cracking on the chandelier. And the chickens is my 2D Design which is pretty much done. I just need to focus on the presentation.

Sunita:
Sunita is organised and her work is coming together smoothly. Her organization has worked in her favor and her artwork is coming together great. She has a strong 3D design of the Timor hut and the printouts for her 2D designs look great. I think now all she has to do is focus on how she is going to present both artworks in the most effective way.

Billie:
Billie’s artwork is also good. She explained that she is still figuring out how to bring it together and still weighing out the pros and cons. It is coming together great and will look really good once complete and on the wall.

Josie:
Josie presented her 3D Design of her plark of her logo framed in the modern design office. She explained how it’s coming together with the steps she is taking, the costs, etc. I think it will look really good. She is also going to have her portfolio displayed on the front desk of the office.

Warwick:
Warwick’s 3D Design is pretty much complete. He is just thinking of ways to enhance it such as adding fake grass, etc.  I suggested adding a ornament/ sculpture, even making a vase of flowers made from the irrigation materials would be heaps cool. Just to give it the extra creative look.

PRACTICAL – Design Realisation
30 mins – Develop 2D Exhibition Designs / 10 mins Blog

I bought a frame for my 2D Design which is large white detailed frame. I wanted to find out the measurements then apply them to my image for Damo to print ready to frame. Below is a picture of the latest version. Because the frame is rectangular I will need to maybe cut some out and expand the size of each chicken.

 Video Commentary
I watched this video to get inspiration and to find out some techniques on how to create cartoons. I really like how they created shadows on the image to make it appear 3D. It is a fast version screen view of the illustrator creating it but I got the idea of how they did it. I would like to consider applying this effect to my chicken to see how it looks.
