Week 03 3D Design

In this weeks class we got into a group and brainstormed ideas for an Eco-friendly form of personal transport and came up with a catchy name and phrase. We based our ideas around the concept of "reduce."

We also brainstormed some other ideas of transport
- Roller-skates
-Kangaroo shoes
- Skateboards

- Car
- Bicycle
- Segway

Below are some researched images of some Eco-friendly transport.

Personally, I wouldn't be seen on one of these in public as much as they would be fun, quick and economical. They look a bit funny, like people just hovering around, bit weird lol. Guess it would just have to grow on you like everything else. Maybe a privacy shield would be good :P but then that could cause accident...

I found this 3 minute video on YouTube of a design by Segway. It is an electronically powered vehicle with only two seats and two wheels. It would be a great solution to save the environment as it would not use fuel and be a lot more economical as it is safer, quieter, cleaner and quicker!! Meaning longer sleep ins!! :P

Following from this idea I looked through some hot cars such as the ferrari. I would like to try to come up with a design that will look appealing to the younger generation. Personally I find the eco-cars a little 'dorky'. So from my research I drew up three rough sketches of a possible designs.

Sketch 1
This sketch could then be modified to be even smaller, have extra cool features such as lights, mags and body kits. Bling it up if ya know what i'm sayin' :P

Sketch 2
This one is more Ferrari style with the curves. I would love to have the doors open up vertically! how cool would that be :)

This one is more of the bubble car. One that looks a bit like a volts wagon would be cool.

It's German for "Car for the People"

I reckon VoltsWagon is actually a brilliant take on it. Good name for an electric car!
