Week 03 2D Design

In todays group activity we had to create a design based on two randomly chosen words. We selected the words space and money and began the process by brainstorming things associated with each word.

I thought about creating space money but I thought that would be predictable and wanted to come up with something different. So I decided to go with a spaceship money jar. I did a Google image search on space ships and there was a range of pictures from cartoons to Star Wars space ships. I did a sketch of both, adding a hole to insert the coin.

Focusing on the exhibition at the end of the year, we then had to come up with three possible design concepts with two versions of each of them. I decided I would do a brainstorm on the possibilities by researching and expanding on the idea.

·      Logo / business card/ Letterheads

·      T-shirt design/ Logo

·      Create an album cover / Poster / merchandise

·      Mixed media – Drawing in cooperated with graphics, maybe even some real photos, etc.

·      Advertising campaign for a product/ billboard/ poster/ product label/ website or magazine advertisement.

·      Create a font/ apply it to a design/ magazine page layout

1. T-shirt design

I would like to create a Tshirt design and possibly a logo.

2. Advertising campaign

I was also thinking of coming up with a particular product such as shampoo and then selling it through a magazine or poster add.

3. Album cover

For a album cover I would like to go with a rock genre. I would like to make up a logo to be a focal point with added rock styled graphics.
